Epic Adult Eye Exams And Glasses in Kelowna, BC
Not your average eye exam. Our EPIC Eye Exam looks beyond your prescription to assess your vision, eye health, and how your eyes work together throughout the day.
What Makes an EPIC Adult Eye Exam Different?
Your EPIC Eye Exam is tailored to how you use your vision in everyday life and may include:
- A detailed glasses or contact lens prescription
- Evaluation of your overall eye health
- Advanced retinal imaging
- Screening of how your eyes focus and work together
We take the time to explain what we find and recommend next steps based on your needs.
Your EPIC Eye Exam Takes a Closer Look
Eye See What You Did There
Advanced imaging gives us a detailed view of structures inside your eyes, helping us identify and monitor changes in your eye health over time.
Prescription Glasses and Optical Boutique in Kelowna
Choosing glasses is not just about how they look, it is about how they perform.
If your day involves:
- Spending long hours on screens
- Switching frequently between distance and near tasks
- Starting to notice you need help seeing up close
- Wanting more comfortable, consistent vision throughout the day
The right lenses can make a noticeable difference in how your vision feels.
We help you find options that match how you use your eyes, so your glasses feel natural instead of something you have to adjust to.
Eye Exam FAQs
For most adults aged 19 to 64, we recommend a comprehensive eye exam every one to two years. However, if you have underlying health conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, or a family history of glaucoma, our optometrists may suggest more frequent visits to monitor your vision health closely.
To ensure the most accurate assessment, please bring:
-
Your current prescription glasses and/or contact lens packaging.
-
A list of any medications or supplements you are currently taking.
-
Your BC Services Card (CareCard).
-
Sunglasses, as your eyes may be dilated during the exam and sensitive to the Kelowna sun afterwards.
In British Columbia, MSP generally provides partial coverage for medically necessary eye exams (such as those for patients with diabetes, glaucoma, or acute eye infections). Routine vision exams for healthy adults aged 19–64 are typically not covered by MSP, but many extended health provider plans do offer coverage. We can help you navigate your insurance options during your visit.
Depending on your eye health history and any symptoms you are experiencing, our doctors may use dilating drops to get a better look at the back of your eye (the retina). This is a crucial step for detecting early signs of eye disease. Dilation typically causes temporary light sensitivity and blurred near vision for a few hours.
Absolutely! Every comprehensive eye exam at our Kelowna clinic includes a refraction test to determine your precise prescription. Once the exam is complete, you can browse our wide selection of designer frames and high-quality lenses to find the perfect pair of glasses for your lifestyle and vision needs.
