Epic Adult Eye Exams And Glasses in Kelowna, BC
Our EPIC adult eye exam is designed to go beyond 20/20 and assess how your eyes function in your daily life.
Whether you have noticed vision changes, or you are due for an eye exam, we can help. We take time to check how your eyes work, not just how clear you see. That way, you can feel confident at work, at home, and on screens.
What Makes an EPIC Adult Eye Exam Different?
An EPIC eye exam looks beyond your prescription to understand how your eyes are functioning throughout your day.
Your exam may include:
- A detailed prescription for glasses or contact lenses
- Evaluation of eye health and early signs of disease
- Advanced imaging to assess retinal health
- Screening for how your eyes work together, especially if you experience strain or headaches
Every exam is thorough, unhurried, and tailored to how you use your vision in real life.
We Take A Closer Look at Your Eye Health
We use advanced imaging to look beneath the surface of your eye and detect changes that are not always visible during a standard exam.
This allows us to identify potential concerns earlier and monitor your eye health over time, especially if you have risk factors or changes in vision.
Prescription Glasses and Optical Boutique in Kelowna
Choosing glasses is not just about how they look, it is about how they perform.
If your day involves:
- Spending long hours on screens
- Switching frequently between distance and near tasks
- Starting to notice you need help seeing up close
- Wanting more comfortable, consistent vision throughout the day
The right lenses can make a noticeable difference in how your vision feels.
We help you find options that match how you use your eyes, so your glasses feel natural instead of something you have to adjust to.
Eye Exam FAQs
For most adults aged 19 to 64, we recommend a comprehensive eye exam every one to two years. However, if you have underlying health conditions like diabetes, high blood pressure, or a family history of glaucoma, our optometrists may suggest more frequent visits to monitor your vision health closely.
To ensure the most accurate assessment, please bring:
-
Your current prescription glasses and/or contact lens packaging.
-
A list of any medications or supplements you are currently taking.
-
Your BC Services Card (CareCard).
-
Sunglasses, as your eyes may be dilated during the exam and sensitive to the Kelowna sun afterward.
In British Columbia, MSP generally provides partial coverage for medically necessary eye exams (such as those for patients with diabetes, glaucoma, or acute eye infections). Routine vision exams for healthy adults aged 19–64 are typically not covered by MSP, but many extended health provider plans do offer coverage. We can help you navigate your insurance options during your visit.
Depending on your eye health history and any symptoms you are experiencing, our doctors may use dilating drops to get a better look at the back of your eye (the retina). This is a crucial step for detecting early signs of eye disease. Dilation typically causes temporary light sensitivity and blurred near vision for a few hours.
Absolutely! Every comprehensive eye exam at our Kelowna clinic includes a refraction test to determine your precise prescription. Once the exam is complete, you can browse our wide selection of designer frames and high-quality lenses to find the perfect pair of glasses for your lifestyle and vision needs.
A Different Kind of Eye Exam Experience
A lot of adults leave eye exams with a new prescription but still feel like something is off.
Our approach is different.
We take time to learn why your vision feels off. It may be screen tiredness, blurry focus, or needing several pairs of glasses. You’ll leave with clear answers, not just numbers.
